The first prize of €7,500 goes to ‘AILEM’ from Belgium – a language app aimed at refugees and asylum seekers that was developed in collaboration with them. The app helps to break down intercultural misunderstandings and barriers between refugees and their host country. It contains useful phrases, stories for language learning and games, as well as opportunities to connect with other users. The project aims to bring together people from different backgrounds, experiences and social statuses.
Two projects tied for second place: the Mobile Climate Museum from Lithuania and The European Correspondent from the Netherlands. They will each receive 3,750 euros.
The Mobile Climate Museum (Mobili Klimato muziejaus paroda) was established in May 2022 with the aim of encouraging people to adopt a climate-friendly lifestyle. It consists of four mobile shipping containers, each presenting one of four topics:
Climate change – causes and effects
The European Green Deal
Sustainable agriculture and healthy eating
Practical tips for reducing consumption
Two projects jointly took second place: the ‘Mobile Climate Museum’ from Lithuania and ‘The European Correspondent’ from the Netherlands. They will each receive 3,750 euros.
Founded in 2022, The European Correspondent brings together over 140 young journalists from across Europe with the aim of creating European journalism. They send out a daily newsletter with the most important European news from a different region. They also examine how important issues affect different European countries.
