1st prize: Poland – Worcation
The project name describes a synthesis of ‘work’ and ‘vacation’. Worcation brings young people from different countries together to work at Stalag VIII A, a former German prisoner-of-war camp from the Second World War, located between Görlitz and Zgorzelec on both sides of the Neisse River. After their training, the volunteers work as archaeologists or interview families of former prisoners.
2nd prize: Italy – Juvenilia
Juvenilia aims to promote interest in opera, ballet and theatre among young people under the age of 35. Juvenilia organises cultural exchange meetings in various European cities and negotiates ticket prices to make it easier to attend performances. Participants can meet the artists backstage, take part in city tours and meet like-minded people from other countries.
3rd prize: Malta – Never Arrive 2
Third place goes to the book project Never Arrive 2 by young Somali refugee and blogger Farah Abdullahi Abdi, who describes the obstacles and frustrations faced by refugees and their willingness to integrate into European society and contribute to European development.
