1st prize: Poland – ‘Erasmus evening’
‘Erasmus evening’ is an online radio programme for students considering an Erasmus stay abroad. It was broadcast on Radio Meteor UAM, the student radio station of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Guests included Polish students studying abroad and foreigners studying in Poland. The interviews focused on topics such as submitting documents, choosing subjects, finding accommodation in another country, differences between universities and the opportunities they offer, the education system and everyday student life.
2nd prize: Denmark – ‘Re-discover Europe’
‘Re-discover Europe’ was an event that took place on two different days in the Eurosceptic city of Aalborg in northern Denmark. On 6 May, people from different ethnic backgrounds took part in a parade carrying EU flags. In a multicultural village, local residents were able to learn more about diversity in their city. On 9 May, activities took place to mark Europe Day, including talks on the future of the EU (inspired by the TED Talks model) and an EU street party to round off the day.
3rd prize: Netherlands – ‘Are we Europe’
‘Are we Europe’ is an online multimedia platform where young people can submit their stories about what it really feels like to be European. The founders of the platform are convinced that in times of negative media coverage and widespread negative opinions about Europe, it is important to motivate young Europeans to share new perspectives on Europe with readers.
