1st prize: Italy – InteGREAT
The first prize went to the InteGREAT project from Italy. The project was created by AIESEC with the aim of connecting young people from all over Europe and working together to tackle the refugee crisis. The focus is on integrating refugees. The project involves international volunteers, local non-governmental organisations and local communities and organises workshops, leisure activities, seminars and events.
2nd prize: Greece – Searching for Charlemagne
The Greek project ‘Searching for Charlemagne’ received second prize. The tablet game, created by students at Pirgetos Gymnasium in Larissa, is about Charlemagne, the namesake of the Charlemagne Prize. In his day, he was known as the ‘Father of Europe’ and even attempted to create a union, albeit one that would not meet our standards today.
3rd prize: United Kingdom – Young European Council
The third prize went to the British project ‘Young European Council (YEC)’, an annual international conference that brings together young people with a passion for the future of Europe. The aim is to provide European politicians with practical and innovative ideas. The YEC took place in Brussels from 15 to 19 November 2015 and included three discussion rounds: migration and home affairs, energy union and climate policy, and education and employment.
