Denmark – Our Europe
The Our Europe project collects and disseminates new and essential information, stories and opinions from young people in Europe. Our Europe involves thousands of young people from 24 countries and promotes European and international understanding by taking a closer look at what matters to young people in Europe today. A team from Our Europe spent a year travelling through 24 European countries. They stayed with young people, conducted hour-long interviews on existential issues, education and working conditions, and published radio programmes, films, articles, interviews and pictures on their website. The publications aim to ‘improve mutual understanding among young people in Europe by giving users the opportunity to meet, hear opinions and learn about living conditions, such as those of a gay young man from Seville, a social entrepreneur from Athens, an unemployed young woman from Amsterdam who is in a personal crisis ...’. In addition, the team collaborated with 21 Danish schools in an experimental and successful Skype session, speaking live from Europe to 2,800 young Danish students. Our Europe describes itself as a gathering of ‘cultural and political adventurers who want to take other people on a journey of discovery into the hearts of Europe's young generation.’
The Netherlands – JouwDelft & Co
JouwDelft & Co is a European youth congress that took place from 19 to 24 November 2012. Its aim was to find local solutions to youth unemployment in Europe. JouwDelft & Co brought together young active European citizens and policy advisors from across Europe to find solutions to this ever-growing problem. A resolution on youth unemployment was then drafted, incorporating the policy measures proposed by the young people, and submitted to the European Parliament in November 2013. In addition, a European youth network was established between ten different European countries, which can be used in future for projects such as JouwDelft & Co.
Cyprus – Employment4U
From 13 to 20 April 2013, the Youth Dynamics group organised a training course for young people, which included seminars, presentations, workshops, visits and discussions on the topic of youth unemployment. A total of 26 young people took part in the course, including young people from nine EU Member States (Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Latvia, Poland and Italy). The main objectives of the training course were to promote and improve the individual employability skills of young people, to exchange strategies for active job seeking and to promote the establishment of networks.
